Why Your Shop's “Emergency Kit” Is a False Safety Net: A Battery-Tender Field Guide
I flinch when someone says the phrase emergency kit. It sounds good in a meeting—until a dead battery shows up at 4:45pm on a Friday and the “kit” is a 10-gauge jumper cable from 2016 plus a jump pack that nobody charged after the last call.

The Problem Isn’t the Dead Battery
The surface problem is a vehicle that won’t move. A delivery van sits in a mall parking lot. A plow truck won’t turn over. A customer’s EV has 3 percent charge and the only outlet nearby is 120V. We’ve all been there.
But the deeper problem—the one that actually costs you money—is that most “emergency” gear is purchased one item at a time, without a plan. It’s a collection of tools, not a system.
Why Emergency Gear Fails When You Need It
